1. My inspiration for the land and sky picture is this google picture of the beach and sunset. This inspired me because I love the beach, expecially sunsets on the beach. I used my personal twist on the picture by changing the palm trees leaves and colors of the trees.

2. I've been working with oil pastels and blending for a few weeks now. And for a group project where I had to make a lifelike apple and my practice with this skill helped me do that for my group.

3. I collaborated and got feedback from other artist on my joker piece. This helped me know what people think and gave me a lot of confidence in my work because this was my first time doing a persons face and I wasn't sure how it would turn out but I'm glad I got to best what other people thought.

For the 2 in 1 project I did the joker with batman mask on him. My inspiration came from the movie Batman: The Dark Knight and more sepecfiically Heath Ledgers character the joker. I love his character and the emotion and twist he brings to the movie making it my favorite movie and the joker my favorite character of all time. So my personal twist on the joker was throwing the batman mask on him.

I went out of my usual comfort zone this past project by using chalk pastels opposed to my normal oil. I wasn't sure how chalk would work compared to oil. But it's pretty similar, I learned cross hatching, blending, and complimentary colors and how they can blend and work together to make some really cool feelings and movements in the picture.

I learned about René Margritte when we had to do a real life portrayal of a historical piece of art. I learned that he was a Belgian surrealist artist and became well known for a number of witty and thought-provoking images that fall under surrealism. His picture, the son of man was made in 1964 in Belgium and is classified as a surrealism piece.
